They're not "my" bands; I am not the manager of any of these bands, I'm just a member or a guest and I feel very honored to be a part of such wonderful groups of musicians.

                                                                                                                                  TWO-STEP BLUEGRASS

This is my primary band.

                                                                                                                                  RURAL ROUTE BLUEGRASS

They asked me to be a member early in the fall of 2011. I gladly became a part of their band because they pick and sing so well. Plus, they are down-to-earth, wonderful people.

BOB & HOMER & THE BLUEGRASS BOYS

                                                                                                                                  ROCK CREEK OPRY BAND

Often times we're joined by fine area musicians such as Warren Shelton on Bass, Gordon Hoyle on Guitar, Terry Tester on Banjo and Guitar, Bill Hardin on Guitar, Harvey Tester on Guitar, Ken Williams on Fiddle and Bass, Big Ed Dance on Mandolin and Jim Woods on Guitar and Bass. Many, many others show up to pick, too. This band shuts down for the winter months while its' host, Robert Crigger goes south.

This band has only been together once for a benefit performance at an area senior care home. It's comprised of Ron Duncan, mandolin, Terry Tester, guitar and Yours Truly on banjo. We're all dyed-in-the-wool traditional Bluegrassers who enjoy providing entertainment to the elderly and infirm. We were very well received and look forward to many more engagements.

Mary and I visted Wade and Shirley Ledford at their home in Valley Forge, Tn, on Friday night, September 9th to pick and sing and Wade asked me if I would join his band and play with them on November 10th at The Red Barn. The Band only plays a few times a year so I graciously accepted the invitation (I was honored) and look forward to our practices coming up in October. Members of the band are Wade, guitar; Frank Culler on bass; Mike Laws on banjo, Yours Truly on fiddle; Tom Harrald, resonator guitar; Cooter Williams and Harvey Tester on guitars and possibly some others I've missed.

                                                                                                                                  STRING FEVER
Once in a while I am asked to be a guest performer when String Fever plays out at local venues. I always enjoy it. The band is comprised of Ron Duncan, Jerry Sams, Jim Hady, Gary Taylor and Lisa Pattison.

Once a year a special fish fry party is held on private property by special people who are wonderfully generous and invite lots of friends to enjoy their hospitality and great cooking. This year, Mary and I were invited and I became a member of the yearly band, which, in fun, I nick-named "The Nolichuckey River Rats". lol.

                                                                                                                                  THE OLDE TIMERS
This band has been together for many years and is comprised of some very seasoned pickers. I was a guest member on January 19th, 2012 when Jimmy was sick and could not attend to perform. Charley Black, their standup player is bassist plays for other groups, too, including Bob & Homer and The Bluegrass Boys. Bill does a great job on Bluegrass gospel numbers, Terry Nelson sings the old traditional Bluegrass numbers, Paul Masters burns his fiddle right up at each of their many performances while Jimmy keeps a steady drive on the banjo. I enjoyed "guesting" for this band.

Being a part of so many Bluegrass Bands is a lot of fun and so far there haven't been any scheduling conflicts. This band is cranking up the practicing and playing schedule and I can easily foresee a tighter playing schedule coming up for the fall and winter months as well as a busy next summer, too. Here we are pictured at "Butler Days" this summer:
