I've been unable to put this area out of my mind lately....ever since I started playing my old fiddle tune again, "The Round Pond Reel" that I composed on site there back in 1994.
So unable to shake the feeling of being called back to this area, I talked Mary into hiking in there with me and bringing her camera along. I'd been planning this day for a couple of weeks, but the weather just was not cooperating. Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous; blue sky, warm breezes, rarely a cloud.
I have created a new Page on this website and named it "Twin Pond Journey". It's a collection of Mary's beautiful photos she's taken along the trail and a discussion of the newborn fiddle tune. I've been wanting to compose a companion piece to my earlier piece "The Round Pond Reel" and have it celebrate my feelings for the pond that lies just to the south of Round Pond named Twin Pond. Sure enough, fiddle motifs came to me the moment I sat on the rocks of the inlet to Twin Pond and after some mental arranging and structuring, I put together the new melody in my head, on site which I have now named "The Twin Pond Reel".
