These three photos below were taken by my wife, Mary Warner. I love her photography!

Picking at Ron Lane's in Gray, TN 11/19/17
The two pictures below were taken by my good friend and banjo picker, Chuck Milhorn, who wanted pictures of me to be on my website, since I'm usually the one snapping the pictures. I was playing his banjo at the time. Thanks Chuck.

Mountain View Bluegrass, November 11, 2017
I took this photo as we were getting ready to leave for the day after having played for 3 1/2 hours. I played banjo for the entire duration and was seated on the far right of the gazebo on the bench with the red cushion. Many of our "fans" had departed by the time I snapped this photo.
Heber Springs Bluegrass Jam, November 10, 2017
Pioneer Village, Searcy. November 5, 2017
I arrived an hour early to perform and so I played the fiddle solo for nearly an hour. It began to sprinkle and I got worried about my fiddles, so I stopped just before the rain stopped and the band showed up. Lonnie Collins played fiddle, Jim Scarborough played guitar and sang, Tom Alexander played guitar and sang, and Bobby Wright played ukulele bass and sang.
Meanwhile, at the Civil War encampment, my good friend Joe Jakonczuk and his friend played music in front of their tents.
There are many more pictures of the Pioneering exhibits here.

At one point, I turned around from my chair I was seated in performing in the Washington Picking Park and counted 88 members of the audience who were gathered to listen to our tight little group play. The group consisted of Stan Caldwell, guitar and vocals; Steve James, Dobro; Andy Nichols, mandolin and vocals; Jay Kaffka, upright bass; and yours truly, banjo and vocals. I took the photos below after we broke up for the evening and I was near my car.

These 3 pictures were taken by Gordon Hoyle. John Gott, Ron Duncan and yours truly played triple fiddles while accompanied by Joe Thompson on guitar. Now that was fun!
Below, I sang the lead to "Little Cabin Home on the Hill" with one of my absolute favorite pair of vocalists, Tom and Beverly Horton while Tim Laughlin played fiddle; Dan Crarty, mandolin; Charlie Powers, guitar; Hal Boyd, upright bass; and Tom Horton, guitar. Picture by Gordon Hoyle. Ron Duncan is wearing the cowboy hat.

Two very talented groups. 1st group picked folk songs under the middle gazebo in the Pickin' Park. 2nd group picked under a shade tree at Kin-Folks BBQ across from the music store. I picked with this group for around two hours and had a wonderful time fiddling. I also spent nearly an hour in the music store browsing through fiddle books. There is just so much to do, see and hear in Mountain View. I love the place. It's a remote, peaceful Eden for acoustic music lovers.
Below: The Ozark Folk Center auditorium in between age group performances in the annual state fiddling championship. I chose not to enter this year since the rules prohibit any Bluegrass from being performed during the contest. I like "Old-Time" but I Love Bluegrass!

"Highway 36 Grass"
David Davis (gray shirt and straw hat) and a group of musicians he played with for most of the day.
The group I played with most all of the day consisted of Joe Jakonczuk, banjo; Steve James, resonator guitar; Terry Majewski, mandolin, guitar and vocals; Stan Caldwell, guitar and vocals; and a few others, too, including a very talented mandolin player/vocalist who I didn't get to know his name. I played mostly fiddle but toward the end of the day I played one of Joe's hand-built "Arkansas" banjos and an older Gibson belonging to Stan. Joe owns and operates "The Arkansas Banjo Company" in Beebe, AR.
Just before leaving to come home to Searcy, I was asked to perform with a husband and wife team called "Freddie and Phyllis" out of Hot Springs who were visiting Mountain View for a few days. Freddie played guitar and sang and Phyllis played upright acoustic bass and sang. They were lots of fun to play with and they drew quite an audience.

Picking Old Country & Bluegrass at Tommy Smith's in Arkansas
May 15th, 2017, I had a lot of fun playing music at my good friend Tommy Smith's place on Panther Creek Road near Letona and Pangburn, Arkansas. Here are a few photos I took. I was seated right between Tommy (far left of first photo) and Dewey (far right of last photo).
Most everybody played guitar, except for Lonnie Collins early in the evening played bass, later followed by Bobby on bass. One fellow played mandolin. Later in the evening, Lonnie played guitar. I played fiddle the whole time I was there. These guys can sure flat-pick the old country licks. It's a treat playing with them.

Arkansas Edition Performs in Kensett, March 28, 2017
Mary and I went out to Kensett on Tuesday night, the 28th of March, to visit with our friends that make up the band "Arkansas Edition" and their significant others. It was truly fun to see Lonnie, Ronnie, Donnie and Randall again and to visit with Janet. (Jackie was absent).
We enjoy their singing and picking very much and we also enjoy the desserts at the Country Kitchen where they were performing.

Left to right: Richard Widdows, Dobro & vocals; Terry Taylor, mandolin, guitar & vocals; Jim Stidman, violin maker & guitar picker; Jerry Coleman, guitar & vocals; Ron Lane, banjo & vocals; (excellent blueberry pie maker, too!); and Jerry McCarthy, upright bass. I played fiddle.
February 17, 2017 visit to the Meucci Custom Cue Factory, Byhalia, Mississippi
My good friend, Bob Meucci, owner and designer of world famous Meucci Cues asked me to play my banjo and fiddle at our recent visit to his factory in Byhalia, MS. In addition to him signing a couple of cue shafts for me, I had him autograph my banjo, too. We were at the factory for over 4 hours, shooting pool with Bob, touring the factory and visiting with workers and management. (Don't tell anyone, but Mary beat me at a game of pool in the Meucci Plant billiards room ;)
"Midnight Grass" Performs at the Moose Lodge in Johnson City, TN. 02-09-2017
Recently, the 9th of February, I had the good fortune to perform with "Midnight Grass" at the Moose Lodge in Johnson City, Tennessee. I stepped of the stage to take this picture of the band while they were practicing before the show started. I stood at Jerry Sams' right-hand side and played fiddle all evening. Musicians pictured from far left to right are: Gary Taylor, upright bass and vocals; Jerry Sams, guitar and vocals; Troy Bennett, guitar, mandolin and vocals; Jeff Webb, guitar; and Rick Guinn, banjo. Not pictured: me and my fiddle.
