Montgomery County Breakdown (Eddie Stubbs)

"The Higden Reunion", original fiddle tune by Fred Warner

This original fiddle tune was composed the day I performed at the Higden town-wide reunion in Higden Arkansas. It was World Fiddle Day and I wanted to honor that by creating a tune, so after I returned home from a day of fiddling, I composed this piece. It's difficult to play, but I'm getting better and better at it....however slowly.

"Rustler's Creek" by Fred Warner.

This fiddle tune was composed by me on 4/30/2019. The title was an invention of my brother, Dave "Grizz" Warner and our mutually  good friend, Kurt Bargar. Grizz and Kurt made the name up and asked me if I would write a fiddle tune and name it "Rustler's Creek, so I did. I used a unique tuning that I've yet to run across in any of my cross-tuning experiences: FCAF 4th string to 1st. The band "Hit or Miss" has already adopted this tune as one they've placed on their play list.

Down in Bluegrass Hollow

Here's another original fiddle tune I've composed on the 1st of March, 2019. I finally got around to posting it today, the 8th of March.

The Snobby Fiddle Rag

This is an original fiddle tune composed on February 26, 27 & 28th, 2019. It was inspired by a friend named Rodger on Bluegrass Daddy website.
The Snobby Fiddle Rag. An original fiddle tune by Fred Warner

My good friend, Steve Srader, lyricist, poet, musician, wrote the words below after having been inspired by my fiddle tune of a similar name.

“The Snobby Violin” words copyright by Steve Srader (used by permission)

Look at me, I am great, a beautiful violin. Hear my vibrato and clean notes, a wonder to behold.

Oh I am. Yes, I am, a wonder to behold!

Ole Fiddle you should leave, why are you here anyway? Why fiddle? You’re just a sloppy, scratchy old fiddle;

You’re not good enough to even grace my presence.

Fiddle you make me sick with your Faded Love, Turkey in the Straw, and Boil Them Cabbage Down.

Oh, how crude you are fiddle, Hah!

Once again, just look at me. I am great. A beautiful violin. Hear my vibrato and clean notes;

A wonder to behold. Oh I am.

Yes, I am, a wonder to behold!

The Bitten Finger Rag

This is an original fiddle tune composed on February 17th, 2019. It was inspired by a friend named Rodger on Bluegrass Daddy website. The fiddle is tuned from 4th to 1st string as AEAC#.

Maggots Ate The Termite

This is an original tune composed by me (Frederick Warner) on 2/16/2019. I named it "Maggots Ate The Termite" after an amusing conversation I had with others on the Bluegrass Daddy fiddle site online.

Pass Me Not. Blaine Sprouse & Friends

This is a wonderful, fun to play fiddle tune in the key of B Flat, performed here by Blaine Sprouse and his friends at the Montana Fiddle Festival. He uses simple straight-forward double stops to great effect.

Bill Monroe Sings Bluegrass. Body and Soul

I've learned the two fiddle tunes: "Millenburg Boy" at 2:07 and "Lucky Lady" starting at 17:28. They are fun to play.

This waltz is one of the most beautiful compositions I've ever heard and it is played to perfection by Randy Howard.

Give it a try out. It's a catchy tune and fun to play. Add your own ornamentation to spruce it up to your liking.

Here's the tune "Missouri Road", composed by Kenny Baker, played by Kevin Williams in the key of A (with three sharps and a relative minor chord of F Sharp Minor). Kenny wrote the piece in B Flat (two flats with a relative minor chord of G Minor). I've learned it in both keys, but prefer the key of B Flat.
